Illustrated London News
The first illustrated newspaper in the world was published by ILN (in 1842). Since then they have become a print and digital content agency. As creative director of ILN I was involved with the whole creative output of the agency. This was a mixture of hands on design work but also working with the other art directors in my team.
Apart from the projects here our work also covered books, apps, websites, social media, films and branding.
I launched the magazine and related app for boutique hotel group, Raffles. The magazine looks at the wider culture and unique stories of each hotel location. I designed and art directed the magazine as well as commissioning the major shoots. Apart from this project we also developed an extensive social media campaign for the group.
As part of their 90th anniversary Godiva Chocolatier wanted to celebrate its own history and the unique Belgian culture that influenced it. The 140 page book looks at art nouveau, comic art, fashion and music. I designed the book and commissioned the photography.
Sphere is ILN's own luxury lifestyle magazine. It has distribution in a number of places, such as BA First Class and a wide range of five star hotels. I was responsible for the design, art direction and commissioning of photography for the magazine.
Hamilton & Inches
ILN acted as brand advisers to Royal Warrant holders, Hamilton & Inches. Approaching their 150th anniversary we worked on strategy and creative direction for the new website. Additionally we worked on collateral across all other aspects of the company. I acted as the creative director with day-to-day art direction by Anaïs Dimech.
Belmond magazine was a pitch win for ILN that I worked on. Having recently re-branded, previously known as Orient Express, they required a magazine to help establish their new identity. I was the creative director with Anaïs Dimech as the art director.
